We have had an eventful, last full day at Ox! We (the boys) made our way to Camp Wapo for an awesome field game called “Hula Launchers”! After that, we had a picnic lunch and then the girls joined us for the Wapo beach bash! At beach bash, campers played beach and carnival style games and activities. After some free time at Wapo, we headed back to Ox for rest and pizza night! The rain didn’t put a damper on our fun… we played “Jibberish” in the chapel and sang camp songs afterwards! We’ll have s’mores and devos in our cabins tonight before we hit the hay! See you all tomorrow at 12pm for closing worship!
We had another full day here at Ox Lake! This morning, we participated in several “Growing Green Hearts” science-based activities including paper making, building a watershed, and testing the water quality in a nearby stream. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot about God’s green earth!
After lunch, the boys headed to the beach for swimming while the girls spent time working with their horses. For dinner, we had a special activity planned: Hunger Banquet. At the Hunger Banquet, the campers were able to experience the way that food is unevenly distributed in our world.
After our dinner experiment, campers and counselors discussed their experience. After discussion, they were offered food if they wanted to eat some more. After dinner, we had evening canteen, special prayer worship, and campfire!
Tomorrow is our last full day with our cabins! Our week is flying by! Check in tomorrow for more updates!
Tuesday was a big day for us! Our Ox youth campers took a canoe trip down the St. Croix River- 7 miles! Afterwards, we got a sweet treat, and went to a nearby water fall to cool off! Meanwhile, our horse campers were able to spend time with their cabins in the morning doing low ropes challenge activities and riding horses! We all ended our busy day with field games, canteen, campfire & devotions!
We have had a busy day today! This morning after breakfast we had chapel and then headed to the front for horseback riding, gaga, and bible study! We ate lunch at the front too and then did some low ropes team building activities with our cabins. Our horse campers spent the rest of the day working with the wranglers and learning more about how to work with horses. We had canteen time and field games before dinner and then headed to Camp Wapo to see Agape, a Christian hip hop artist! It was a blast! We had some severe weather warnings this evening and ended up staying the night at Camp Wapo. We made the most of our situation and had a giant movie night and slumber party in the chapel!
We’re off to bed now, but there is a lot of fun in store for tomorrow! Check back in to see updates!
We had a fun time settling in last night. After registration, we walked to the village and got to know how everything works (using the bathroom, cleaning up meals, & using first aid). After that, we had a pasta bar for supper and then Bible study. Then, we played a camp classic, Mighty Mighty! We ended the night with campfire and then devotions with our cabins.
Check in tomorrow for another update and some more photos of our adventures! Goodnight!
Our last full day came to a close today! We spent the day exploring around Ox with our cabins, playing field games, swimming at the swim hole, enjoying some free time, eating canteen treats, singing at campfire and playing night game! We are enjoying our final night here, but we are excited to see you all tomorrow! Closing worship is at 12 at the front! See you there! (Check our smug mug later tomorrow for a complete album of photos from the week!)
